“Through my years of teaching experience, I unequivocally believe that all students can learn when we remove all socio-economic factors and equip them with the necessary tools. It is these tools that foster knowledge and understanding and unlock the students' desire to explore and conquer the world.”

English I, English III, and Survey of 20th Century Literaturebselfwhitehead@leakesd.org

Born and raised in Alabama, I have only lived in Mississippi for 14 years. My education includes a BS in Early Childhood Special Education from Auburn University, a Master's in Special Education from University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an Educational Specialist's Degree in Administration from Arkansas State. I have been teaching high school English for 11 years and hope my love for literature pours over into the students I teach. Prior to that, I worked in public education, as well as for Alabama's Early Intervention Program, which serves infants and toddlers with their families, and children on the Autism Spectrum. I am a mother to a 14 year old, Bailey, and 11 year old twins, Elissa and Ellie. In our spare time, we enjoy doing all things "girly" and traveling to Oneonta to spend time with family. I am excited to be on staff at Leake County High School and look forward to opportunities to educate students here. As a new teacher in the district, I hope to become more involved in extracurricular activities.
